Losing brain cells story #2
I run out to get dinner for us the other night and on the way home I stop at Maverick because Amira wanted a hot dog and we needed some milk. For those of you who don't know the area in which I leave Maverick is about 15 - 20 blocks from my house. I drive home slowly enjoying the discussion on NPR, get home, park the car and struggle to bring all the food into the house. We sit down at the table and start distributing food. Hartman then asks me,
"Did you leave the milk in the car?"
I look at him oddly, stand up and grab my keys and before leaving the house tell him...
"I left the milk on top of the car!!"
So I get back in the car and I cannot be bothered to reverse so I drive round the block and head back up to Maverick. No milk!. I walk into Maverick and feel like an utter fool but ask if anyone has handed in a half gallon of milk. They just look at me thinking that I am completely out of my mind. I drive off thinking how can anyone possibly pick up milk from the floor and take it home! I drive slowly looking for my half gallon jug of milk but no sign until....
I turn into my street and their she is shining in my headlights in the middle of the road. I pull over and sit and laugh at myself for about 2 minutes. It was only slightly cracked so it was leaking a little!! If only I had reversed and come out of my street I would not have made a complete fool of myself at Maverick.
However, I must have been a good laugh for other people driving past me. I made it 15-20 blocks with a half gallon jug of milk on the roof of my car!!!
I AM LOSING IT!!!!!
