Just finished
(just in time for Harry Potter-which I still do not have I would like to add!!).....it was a really interesting book. It covers a period of American history that is usually not talked about very much. The book is about how the Japanese Americans were treated during WWII. It is a short read but definitely gets the point across.
Throughout the book I felt that Otsuka was maybe gently justifying why the Japanese Americans were treated so terribly. However, when you get to the end of the book you realise this is not the case.....if you do not read the book then at least read the 'confession' at the end. Heartbreaking.
